HOPE BR CYF is committed to using your donation in the most efficient and transparent way possible. This page explains how donation amounts, payment processing fees and any other charges are handled when you support our projects through the website.
1. Donation Amounts and Currency
Donations on our website are generally displayed and processed in United States Dollars (USD) or other currencies depending on your location and the options made available by our payment providers. The exact amount you are charged in your local currency may vary according to the exchange rate and any fees applied by your bank or card issuer.
Before confirming your donation, you will see the amount to be charged and, where possible, the currency in which it will be processed.
2. Payment Processing Fees
When you make a donation online, we use third-party payment service providers (such as card processors or digital wallets) to process your transaction securely. These providers usually charge a small fee per transaction (for example, a percentage of the donation plus a fixed amount).
As a general principle:
- We seek to minimise processing costs by choosing competitive providers;
- Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, you do not pay any additional fee on top of the donation amount you select – the processing cost is borne by HOPE BR CYF as part of our operating expenses; and
- In some cases we may offer you the option to “cover the processing fee” by slightly increasing your donation amount. This is always optional and clearly shown before you confirm your donation.

The exact fees charged by payment providers vary by country, payment method and time. As an illustration only (not a guarantee), a common structure might look like this:

4. No Hidden Charges
We do not charge you any registration fee, subscription fee or hidden service charge for using our website to donate. The amount you confirm at checkout is the amount we request from your payment method, plus any fees that may be charged directly by your bank or provider outside of our control.
5. Recurring Donations
If you set up a recurring donation (for example, monthly), the selected amount will be charged at the chosen interval until you cancel. Any applicable payment processing fees will apply to each separate transaction.
You can cancel a recurring donation at any time by following the instructions in your confirmation email or by contacting us at contact@hopebr.co.uk. Please be aware that cancellations may not apply to payments that have already been processed.
6. Refunds
Donations are intended as voluntary, non-refundable contributions. However, if you believe a donation has been made in error or without your authorisation, please contact us within 14 days at contact@hopebr.co.uk. We will review each case individually in line with our Terms of Service and applicable law.
7. Tax and Receipts
We will issue an electronic acknowledgement or receipt for your donation. Whether your donation is tax-deductible may depend on the laws of your country of residence. You are responsible for seeking your own tax advice.
8. Changes to Pricing and Fees Information
We may update this Pricing and Fees page from time to time, for example when our payment providers change their pricing structures. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
